Masks to print out are an economical, convenient and fun way to create your own costume. At the Printable Mask Shop, we have designed and tested hundreds of printable masks to ensure you get the best quality and fit from your mask.
Now in order for you to get the absolute most from your printable mask, here are a few tips:
- The better the quality paper the better the mask quality. Although some of our masks used on the site pictures were actually printed on regular stock and turned out great, it is always best to use cardstock to keep the form of the mask and for durability.
- taking the printable mask file to a printer is a great idea if you have the time as they can get the best results for you and will usually print off your mask on glossy thick cardstock for under a buck! Just purchase your mask from the shop, download your mask file to a flash drive or SD card and give to the clerk telling them you want it printed on 8.5×11 inch glossy cardstock. They will know what to do.
- once you have your mask printed, you will need some tools. An X-Acto blade works best to cut out your mask. Be sure to watch our video on how to cut out your mask for best results. Also a cutting board is important to get a clean cut around detailed areas.
- Cutting around the lower part of the nose on many of our masks is a great way to let the nose poke through and makes the mask fit naturally.
- Tape or staple elastic string, pipe cleaners, ribbon or even regular house hold string the the inside of the mask just on the outside of the eye cutouts for a good fit.
